Why it collects reviews
Tickets with a reserved entry slot at an icon. These accumulate more reviews than anything else on the market because the value is instantly measurable: the time you did not spend in a queue.
There is no walk-up ticket worth having. Entry is slotted in fifteen-minute intervals and sells out days ahead, so almost every visitor books in advance — and a large share of them rate it afterwards.

The light decides your slot
Gaudí designed the stained glass in two temperatures. The Nativity side, facing east, throws blues and greens across the nave in the morning. The Passion side, facing west, floods it with orange and red in the late afternoon.
Both are extraordinary; they are simply different buildings. Pick your slot for the one you want to photograph rather than for convenience.

Nativity tower or Passion tower
The Nativity tower looks out over the older, more intricate façade and the bridge between spires is the more dramatic walk. The Passion tower gives the cleaner view towards the sea and the sagging modern geometry.
Both are a lift up and a spiral staircase down, with no lift for the descent. Anyone uneasy with narrow stairs or heights should skip the towers and spend the money on the guided interior instead.

What a guide adds here
More than usual. The building is a coded structure — the columns branch like trees to specific species, the hyperboloid vaults exist for acoustic and structural reasons, and the Passion façade's magic square is easy to walk past. Without narration most visitors photograph the ceiling and leave.

- Yes, more than at most monuments. The structure is symbolic throughout and a guide explains the tree-branch columns, the two façades and the glass programme that most visitors otherwise miss.
- Are the tower tickets included?
- No. Tower access is a separate timed lift ticket added at booking, and it sells out before general entry.
- What time of day is best for the Sagrada Família?
- Early morning for the blue and green east windows, late afternoon for the orange and red west windows. Midday gives the flattest interior light.
