Buy something made nearby: a national-park annual pass, small-batch bourbon or local craft beer, records from an independent store, a maker's ceramic rather than airport merchandise. The weekly market in Baltimore & Annapolis and a workshop with the maker on site beat any airport shop, and you're supporting the local trade rather than an importer.
