Special · Theme parks

The theme-park special.

30 parks across Florida and the United States East Coast, from the four Disney gates and Epic Universe to Hersheypark, Six Flags Great Adventure, Busch Gardens Williamsburg and the last seaside amusement park in South Carolina. Each destination page gives the real season, opening hours, how many days the park needs, which queue passes are worth paying for and bookable tickets.

Before you book a park date

  • · Most East Coast parks close midweek outside summer and shut entirely in midwinter — fix the park date before the hotel.
  • · Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Hersheypark and Six Flags America include their water parks in the same ticket. Pack swimwear.
  • · Afternoon thunderstorms are normal from June to September in Florida and the Carolinas: keep an indoor attraction in reserve.
  • · A US trip needs an ESTA applied for at least 72 hours before departure, and travel insurance that covers medical care — hospital costs are not capped.
